We Are Not Alone

As Gods children we are not alone and we have comfort. God knows us and knows what we are going through, meaning we do not have to go through life alone. Once we accept God he lives in us and we become his home/ his temple again meaning we are not alone. And to make things better we are joint heirs with Jesus.

Not Alone

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
– John 14: 16-18

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
– John 14:26

This was Jesus talking to the disciples about his leaving them and going to be with his Father. In this section he mentions that he will give us another comforter. We are not alone Jesus made sure we would not be alone as followers of Christ. There are three parts of the trinity the Father (god), the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. They are three separate beings in the trinity but they are the same being. This is hard to explain and maybe it will be a topic of another post.

The Holy Spirit

The comforter is the Holy Spirit. This is the spirit of God that comes into us as we accept Christ. This presents within us helps to guide us and comfort us as we go through life. That calm quite voice that says you should not do that its wrong is the Spirit talking to us. Most say that is just your subconscious telling you but its God speaking to you. When you in your heart know something is right or wrong it’s God helping you. Whether we listen or not is up to us and the more we try to ignore and avoid that voice the harder it becomes to hear the voice. Jesus said he would not leave us with out comfort. Jesus never lied but told the truth. To have the Holy Spirit is to have Jesus himself.

You are the temple of God

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
– 1 Corinthians 3:16

We are the temple of God, he lives in us after we have asked for him to save us. And if God lives in us we are not alone, he knows us the real us.

Fear not!

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, i will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Isaiah 41:10

God tells us not to fear that he is with us. In this passage he is talking to his people the Israelites in the old testament. But now since Jesus has come to die to pay for our sin and made a way it’s also talking to us as believers we are Gods people now. We have seen some verses about God living in us so we are his. We’re not alone and we can talk to God any time any place any where. We have access to God through his son Jesus. As believers we have a relationship with God/Jesus we are his children.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we may be also glorified together.
– Romans 8:16-17

Children of God

As believers we are Gods children and joint-heirs with Jesus. We are part of the eternal and forever family. So we are family and God is our Heavenly Father and loves us as such. We are never alone. God is not under earthly constraints and is not confided.
