So often we take things for granite that are actually blessings. Maybe its that we don’t realized that they are blessings. Everyone gets down and sad at times, but than we must recall our blessings.
There is a song in my hymnal that I really like the song is Count Your Blessings. How often do we stop and think about our blessings.
Your Blessings
Life can be hard whether you are a Christian or a non believer. As a believer who has accepted Christ you are not alone. We mentioned that in a previous post once you have accepted Jesus than you are not alone. He is living with in you through the good and bad.
As life gets you down sometimes it is good to reflect on your blessings. We are more Blessed than we realize. And sometimes its things you have already over come, look at where you are now and where you came from. Maybe you had cancer and are now in remission. That’s a blessing! When you are feeling defeated looking at you blessings can help improve your mood. Blessings can be many things from people in your life to earthly possessions.
Walking and Seeing
Sometimes making a list helps you see all the blessings that are in you life. Blessings could be small or large and everything in between. Often we may take some of our blessings for granted, never thinking that it truly is a blessing. Like being able to walk or see, there are some who can’t do those things. So they truly are blessings! We should be happy if we can see or walk on our own. Just being able to go to school or have a place to sleep can be a blessing.
Transportation
Maybe you have a car but its not the one you want. Maybe its old but it still has heat and air condition. Having a car to get from place to place is a blessing even if its not the newest model.
Family
Lets touch on family a minute. You may complain and get stressed from time to time, but at lest you have them. There are people in the world who have no family left and wish they still had someone to share things with.
Reflect on you blessings
When life gets us down reflect on those blessings you have. Everything from food, clothes, family, past experiences you made it through. Maybe a wreck you made it through with minimal injury’s.
God can even turn bad things to work for good. Once I lost a job and at first it seemed like the worst thing ever but ended up being for the best and gave me a chance to trust and learn more about God.
Joseph was sold into slavery in the bible and had many things happen to him and his brothers did this to him and meant evil but Bod worked it to be good and due to his position was able to help many. The following verse is Joseph talking to his brothers. Perhaps we will talk about Joseph in more detail soon.
But as for you, ye thought evil against me: but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day to save much people alive.

God can turn any situation to work for good, it may not happen right away but a sometime. you may have to wait sometimes just like Joseph did but good things can come.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28 (KJV)
We were not promised it would be easy, but that we would not be alone.
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee – Deuteronomy 31:6 (KJV)
