Payed For

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. – Romans 6:23 KJV

What we have earned through our sin is death. Which is eternal separation from God. God made a way for us to be with him. God offers us eternal life as a gift, but we must accept it. This is a choice we all must make. Weather to accept the gift of eternal life and trust and believe in God or to reject him. God will not make us do one or the other but that is a choice we make.

for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; – Romans 3:23 KJV

We all have sin in our lives and not one of us is perfect. We all need forgiveness and we all have a need for Jesus. There should come a time in our lives when we realize we are sinful and we have a need for Jesus. Jesus is the only way to over come sin and clean our slates and make us whole.

if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
– 1 John 1:8-9 KJV

We all have sinned and if we think we have not we are lying to ourselves. But if we confess our sins to God he is willing to forgive us and make us clean. God already knows all about us and what we have done and not done. We must realize our need and bring ourselves to ask God for forgiveness and trust in him.

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. – 1 Corinthians 6:20 KJV

After we receive the gift of eternal life and have God as our savior we are bought with a price. That price was the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed for our sins. After we are saved we should change the way we live to reflect that change and that we have something new.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. – John 3:16

This is a very famous verse in the bible and most people know it. But this verse tells us why God made a way for us, because he loved us. God loves us when he does not have to and he cares about us. Jesus’s blood is what paid the price for our sins. God sent his only begotten son for us. Allowing him to die in our place to cover the sins of the world making a way for us to be in heaven with him. Jesus died on a cross and gave up the ghost for us.

And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
– Luke 23:33-34 KJV

As the sinful people were crucifying Jesus he was asked Father (God) to forgive the people because they did not know truly what they were doing.

Jesus gave himself

And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father into they hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. – Luke 23:46 KJV

Jesus willingly died and commended his spirit back to this father to cover our sins. With the power Jesus had access to he could have gotten off the cross and left us to die to our sins leaving us hopeless. But because he loved us he suffered and died for us to pay our sin debt.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, it is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. – John 19:30 KJV

This verse from another who had witnessed the crucifixion Jesus had said he thirst just a few verses before this one and they being evil gave him vinegar to drink and shortly after he died.

All this my make you ask how can I can receive the gift of eternal life and make Jesus my savior let me show you a few verses that tell you how.

that if thou, shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. – Romans 10:9-13 KJV

We must talk to God and ask him to forgive us all our sins and acknowledge that we need him. We can not save ourselves so we ask him to come and live in us and become our savior. And these words are not just words but we believe them and are truly asking. This also says for whosoever shall call on him and the whosoever is me and it is you. There are no stipulations on the who but anyone that believes Jesus died for their sins and believes Jesus rose from the dead to give us a way to heaven. The person wo has asked God to forgive them their sins and to come live in there heart can be saved.
