God loved us even while we were sinners and made away for us. while Jesus was here he showed love to people. We should show more love to others the way Jesus did. This does not mean we have to spend time with every single person but there are things we can do. Such as pray for people even the ones you think you don’t like. Be kind to others even when they are not always nice to you, If they need help and you can help than help.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
– Romans 5:8 KVJ
God loved us so much that even before we knew him or changed our ways he died for us. To make a way for us to be with him and be covered by the blood, we will look at the next verse in a min. If he could do that than we should be able to show loved just by praying, spending time, helping even when we don’t always want to.
Much more then, being now justified by his blood we shall be saved from wrath through him.
– Romans 5:9 KVJ
Jesus blood that was shed for us can cover us and keep us. This may be explained more in another post.
The Hard Part
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love they neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But i say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
– Matthew 5:43-45 KJV
Most often people think only to be kind to those who are kind and not so much to your enemy or those who you may have some strife with. But here Jesus is telling us that is not the way to think. He says love your enemies and pray for them. Our neighbor is anyone we meet, it’s the people around us.
Now back in the day and in todays time often we think to hate our enemies; wither that is the bully at work/school or someone with a different mind set. It’s like that old saying you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Except here on earth we are trying to catch souls for Christ. It’s so much easier to be nice to someone who is nice to you rather than some one who is mean to you. But with Jesus help we can still show love to those we have a hard time with.We may need to pray and spend sometime with God over it but it can be done.
It’s also not easy to do good to those who hate us. This is when we must lean on God. Once at a job I tried really hard but there was one who just decided she did not like me and would do things to try to get me in trouble and was right down cruel to me. It took a lot of prayer and help from God but I tried to always be kind to her, even though in the human mind she did not deserve it. No matter how mean she was I smiled and told her hello and asked how she was or her pets, even helped her some and she would look at me crazy. Now she is no longer mean to me and we can have a pleasant conversation. loving and being kind to people who are meanies is hard. But we do not always know what is going on in others lives. Sometimes they just need someone to be nice to them.
This does not mean we have to be BFFs but to pray for them and be kind. Let Jesus love show to others even when they do not deserve it, help them when they really need it. Perhaps we can win souls to Christ by letting his love show through. This is not talking about being run completely over but that though they are unkind you still show kindness. Perhaps they drop all their papers on the floor and you are there. Should you just stand and watch or help them pick them up? Something that simple can make a difference.
For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
– Matthew 5:46-48 KJV
God knows it’s not easy to love those who do not love you. However showing love to those you find hard to love is more likely to show Gods love to them. Those people will wonder why you are different and why you are nice to them even though they have not been nice to you. As children of God who loved us before we were even born and while we were still lost in our sin, God sent his son to die and made a way for us to be saved to be whole. We should love other the way God showed love to us. God showed us love when we did not show it to him. As his children we should want others to know that kind of love. Love is more than a word you say it is what you do. By being different we stand apart and should shine a little leading the way to the Father.
Imagine a world were there was a little more love, respect and kindness. We would have less hatred and less violence. Unfortunately in a sinful world we can’t get rid of it all yet. But the antidote to evil is good.
